Story: Booming Buma

Sparked by a picture spotted in Suvadive Cafe, here in Addu, more people than we expected remembered being unibrow-ed as kids.

We soon got hold of the original images and found our own victim model to recreate this joined eyebrow (buma) look.

Perhaps there are some people who still do this on some islands – it seems it was definitely a thing even in the 90s in the southern atolls. Maybe this story will prompt a few more people to share more details about this old fashion.
